🐌Malaysian trumpet snail

Buries itself in substrate and aerates it preventing dangerous anaerobic pockets from forming. Active at night. Very useful in planted tanks for substrate maintenance and preventing gas pockets.

Algae, detritus, leftover food buried in the substrate. Cleans the substrate as it burrows through it constantly.

Substrate aerator that prevents toxic anaerobic pockets. Reduces dangerous hydrogen sulfide gas buildup in deep sand beds.

Can overpopulate significantly but population stabilises with food availability. Nocturnal so rarely seen during the day.
